755667 2009-03-11 23:06:00 Does anyone here know if you can still get teletext with free view, does the tv still need a teletext unit inside it. The teletext unit in my old tv crapped out yonks ago and its more to fix than the tvs worth. I wont get a large flattie tv until my old Sony sucks a big one.
Cheers

755668 2009-03-11 23:20:00 It should as long as the TV supports teletext.

I'm using a freeview HD tuner on my desktop right now and teletext works fine

755670 2009-03-12 00:13:00 I thought it was replaced by the EPG which comes on the receiver Agent_24 (57)
755671 2009-03-12 00:58:00 The EPG is a program guide.
Teletext has a lot more info as well subtitles on page 801.
With Freeview the Teletext is built in to the decoder so your TV/VCR doesn't have to support it.
It is only available on TV1, TV2 & TV3 as per normal.
