755130 2009-03-10 02:12:00 Hey guys - probably later this week or early next week I am going up to Wellington for a job interview and I am after a pretty cheap place to stay for 1-2 nights.

Any suggestions? It will be right in the city itself.

Last time I was up there i stayed at WellyWood (http://wellywoodbackpackers.co.nz/) backpackers which wasn't too bad.

Still waiting to find out if this will be a phone or personal interview - but as the last 2 interviews with this company have been via phone - I'm expecting that they will want to actually see me in person now.

Is that the old Wellington East Post Office headquarters? If so, that is a really good location for a backpackers. Wicked.

Was thinking about spending the night gaming at a lan cafe actually :sleep

755138 2009-03-10 04:58:00 How about YHA Wellington, across from New World, next door to cafes and restaurants, museum half a block away and the waterfront, basically on courtenay place.

A max 15-20min walk to the offices for interviews. $30 a night I think approx. Shared thou. When I travel myself I tend to pick a international hostel cos they are linked around the world and they appear to be more consistent and ease of booking online.

755139 2009-03-10 04:59:00 Nomads is another hostel, next door to West Plaza Hotel but at night a bit quiet but you are more in the central to interviews ie., could be next door or a 10min walk.

If you want a hotel, Willis Lodge I think it is, might be more than $50/night thou. That is a bit further to office thou.

I think there is Wellywood Hostel too on Tory St, across from Harvey Norman, which is around their apartment living area, near Moore Wilson if you want up scale supermarket. Just off Courtenay Place, Lonestar restaurant basically next door. About the same distance to the offices as YHA. There is also X BASE.
