| 854099 | 2010-02-01 00:57:00 | Hi all, I suspect my 500GB Seagate HD is on it's last legs. Sometimes when I start it up it either hangs in the BIOS or when loading Grub (gives error 18 or 16 when it tries to load). But sometimes it'll load into Windows fine! I found it is running the SD1A firmware according to SeaTools (not sure if I updated it or not after the fiasco with the faulty firmware on Seagate HDs a while ago) It sounds like a failing HD to me! I've got all data I want off it, just want to see what you guys think :) Thanks |
