754492 2009-03-08 08:21:00 I'm paying off my internet with my money in my bank account. And I'm living off brekkie cereal and muesli bars with lots of water.

OK. Hope you saved up large. Keep spending your savings. Eventually your savings will be depleted with no income. Paying off your internet worries me.
Internet on time payment? I can understand paying off a house like with a mortgage.

I would like to help if I could. Have you tried a working from home thing?
Designing sreadsheets, databases or web sites for example. No driver licence needed.

754493 2009-03-08 08:24:00 Well, if he is living with the folks it certainly helps. If one has a decent amount of cash in the bank winz normally tell you to spend it first. There is a set amount I think. Nomad (952)
754494 2009-03-08 08:41:00 I have a four page CV. Most employers do not have time to read a CV that lists everything you have done since birth. I tailor my CV to attract interest depending on the job. If there is a job going digging ditches there appears to be no point in listing computer skills as I may be considered over qualified. The Unemployment Benefit is not means tested...

754496 2009-03-08 10:08:00 I'm too old to be a prude about language or behaviour. But every time I visit this site and see this poster's heading I feel ever so slightly offended. This is after all a site with a basic set of rules calling for:

2) No offensive language or user names (phonetic spellings included). Pressf1 is an all-ages forum and messages should be composed with this in mind.

If this guy stamps his foot and starts an entry with this sort of heading, well I don't feel any sudden rush of sympathy. If we were all sitting around a table in mixed (sex and age) company and he opened a conversation with what appears to be suggested here......... rant over.

I'm with you, This is a funkin disgrace.

And thank god for that. Why should people who have saved, be treated differently to those that frittered their money way, and not saved.

However the living allowance is asset tested. I am not sure if savings in Kiwisaver, would affect the living allowance, as it is not an accessible asset.

If you have a job I say keep it as long as possible and ride this recession through

Does this mean no test?

Then why are pensioners excluded? This smacks of discrimination!

754501 2009-03-08 12:45:00 Christ man the poor bugger wants a job desperately, he even jokes about jumping into the sea. I really wish I could help him.
He really needs help not someone telling off for using asterixs, the word might even be fork.
Compassion not scolding is what we need in these tough times.
Your freinds must be different to mine lots of swearing with friends of mine all ages and sex.
But then again I am only a working class boy we swear and drink to excess.

Well, its not like things are that desperate are they? He's got savings and also WINZ and their benefits to back him up if he needs to and sooner or later the recession/depression will lift and job prospects will return.
