It may have been better if you had looked for another job whilst still employed. For some reason employers seem to favour applicants who are still working. :(

It is a personal call, but if one has paid taxes, worked and now find them unfortunately out of work, the benefit is your prividlege. Thou winz I think has some more weeks in a standdown period if you have resigned than be made redundant.
