2009-03-10 04:24:00 | My main point is the media. My old windup used to play vinyl 78s. Sadly I did not have a computer then and I also believe the unit had no output jacks for some reason. Keep up the good work Thomas001. The Sound of Music deserves to live on forever. Long after some recording companies disappear. Came across this site where some music has been transferred from Pianola rolls to a more modern form. www.pianola.co.nz The recording industry lives off various artists talent and without the artists they would have nothing to record. Much like books you have to get yourself published. Also there seem to be forged paintings and bank notes. Goes off to play my counterfeit Ethel Merman. I wonder if Mozart or Ravel are still collecting royalties.

2009-03-10 04:32:00 | Copyright law would be changed much faster if everyone obeyed it. Nah Don't believe that for a second. Besides think of all the idiot laws that have been knocking around. Rules are made for the guidance of the wise man - the observation of the idiot. I don't know who first said that but it is very true. Even when we left the UK in 1972 there was still a law on the books that made it illegal to leave your parish on a Sunday. And that wasn't the worst. The Lords Day Observance Society (and there's a bunch of idiots for you) were the only ones who followed those rules and occasionally made it impossible for some of us to run motor cycle events on a Sunday. Yuck. Then there was the famous violin lady in Christchurch. Lovely old soul she was but on one occasion called the police in to stop flagrant law breaking on the beach at Christchurch. There were naked bodies!! The poor and highly embarrassed police had to go and tell the family whose toddlers - all about 2 - 3 year old were running with no clothes on had to cover them up immediately. Just how daft can you get. Tom

2009-03-10 18:49:00 | I'm pretty sure the last time I tried VCR into the pc via my Sony video camera, which converts to digital on the way through, that any tape would play without problems.I vaguely recall reading that Microvision was bypassed in the Mitsi Black Diamond I use anyhow. | Neil McC (178) | |

Heh . You disagree with me then go on to prove my point . Using your example of it being illegal to leave your parish on Sunday . I think most people would agree that's a retarded law . Imagine if it was enforced uniformly, fairly and strictly - very quickly people would realise what a stupid law it is, and would lobby to get it changed . Instead, it's only enforced selectively to weed out undesirable activity (biker events) . |

2009-03-10 22:06:00 | Sweep, I envy you the Ethel Merman. (One of those distinctive voices that can't be mistaken for any other) She's rarely heard nowadays, though still famous in musicals when I was a kid. Critics compared her voice to a buzz saw, but fans loved it - and her range & volume was amazing. What's the record called?

2009-03-11 00:15:00 | Do you mean stuff you have recorded off the T.V, if that's the case all you are allowed to do is time shift, too record so it can be watched at a later date. So once watched it should be deleted. Well so the law says Of course I'm only going to watch it once, then I'll do my very best to delete it off the DVD. Whadaya think I yam! A pirate or something? It is definitely a later date too, so I'm home safe on that one. :D Cheers Billy 8-{)

2009-03-11 00:24:00 | The album is there's no business but show business. The original I listnend to was a 78" which only had two tracks. Can't get a man with a gun on the other side.
