2009-04-08 01:09:00 | How much data? I see 8Gb memory stick around now for $30.:illogical

2009-04-08 03:07:00 | What I need to know now is the most efficient way to transfer data from the desktop to the lappie? Fella...I bought a 'Superlink XH8177' thingy from DSE for about twenny bucks that works a treat.....well it did four hours after when I gave in and read the instructions. It's not intuitive, but works a doozy.

2009-04-10 09:56:00 | I have about 60 gigs of data to transfer. And yeah Metz I bought that 8 gig stick - it's cool for the price. So... crossover or ethernet? Problem is I never did any sort of networking before, so maybe I should go with the option of using the laborious method of using the flash drive. ps - anyone interested in buying a used but perfectly working WinXP system?

2009-04-10 10:22:00 | If you guys have a workgroup set up at home, you could set up file sharing and copy them across. Might be a tad slow, but it'll get the job done. What are the specs of the machine?

2009-04-10 12:11:00 | What are the specs of the machine? P4 3000. 2 x 80 gig drives. Damn fine 2.1 speaker system. I can't recall exactly now what RAM it has but it's ok. WinXP Pro, legit. Decent 19" Viewsonic monitor, plus usual peripherals. Gigabyte mobo. The whole system works perfectly and looks as new. Drawbacks... sound and video is onboard, but easily upgraded.
