| 754275 | 2009-03-08 04:20:00 | Yes Erayd there are Scanlens everywhere. Good Irish Catholics, ;) but It would be a huge effort to start contacting all of them on the off chance they can help. But thanks anyway. Lurking, Ive got all the Trounson side sorted going back to James and Sarah arriving in NZ on the Hanover as a married couple in 1862. However, his son Charles married a Mary Scanlan in 1900 and its that side of the family that is causing me problems. One major one being unable to read Marys maiden name on the Marriage Certificate as already covered. The Marriage certificate says she was 22 when married and was born at Papakura but I cant find her on the BD&M Website or anywhere else. Real Strange??????? Hard case thread this one. It started out with me trying to Wildcard search Google and has wound up with so many trying to help me with my Family Tree. :D Its most appreciated. :thanks |

| 754276 | 2009-03-09 00:16:00 | Hi B.M., I presume you got your info from this site? bdmhistoricalrecords.identityservices.govt.nz s#SearchResults Costs $26.00 for the certificate. Given this site on an Bristol genealogy group. As a matter of interest, us siblings were told that our grandparents had had another child, well from the above site I have requested his birth certificate. Regards, Lurking. #17255 |

| 754277 | 2009-03-09 22:04:00 | Also Libraries often have local records on microfiche, have also seen them at museum and BDM office in the past but not sure of availability now. Because of human factors a manual search can produce results due to wrong year recorded or spelling mistakes. | Ofthesea (14129) | ||
| 754278 | 2009-03-10 00:22:00 | Ive tried local library and whilst I can find any number of people that might be the right one, it is like the BD&M Website and doesnt give enough information for me to decide exactly which one it probably is. One could order Photo Copies of all of them, at $20 each, and wind up with nothing. I already have a heap of Certificate Copies that are clearly the wrong person once all the information is available. Whats worse, Im still stuck in NZ and cant see me venturing further. :D |
