754764 2009-03-08 19:55:00 The (US) country lost another 650,000 jobs last month while the unemployment rate jumped to 8 . 1 percent as companies continued to slash payrolls in the face of an unyielding recession .

More than 4 million Americans have lost their jobs since December 2007 .

In the last four months alone, employers shed 2 . 6 million jobs . Last month, according to the U . S . Bureau of Labor Statistics, job declines were "widespread across nearly all major industry sectors . "

That's the headlines here - but it doesn't represent the true story .

If you have been unemployed and used all your unemployment insurance (money) us and are still unemployed, you are removed from the head count .

What you see as NEW unemployment numbers don't represent the numbers who are STILL unemployed . Actually, the numbers take the US into the 18-20% unemployment rate but that fact isn't reported .

The only difference - besides skewed reporting - this time is that the banks aren't getting "run" because the US Treasury has poured tons of money into them to keep them afloat . TAXPAYERS' money .

One last tweak to the "charitable-giving" quandary and why one will not want to give things to charity .

The US-IRS has removed all incentives to give to charity now since it has lowered the applicable tax write-off to only 28% of the total amount that is given by an individual/per year . That kinda shoots the charities in the rear when the US taxpayers were allowed 100% up to a certain value and then 75% after that to another level and then 50% of the final amount as a tax write-off and an incentive to give .

Don't laugh - this is coming to your neighborhood soon, if not already!

754765 2009-03-08 21:09:00 Still have enough money (billions) to fight against the Iraqis and Afghanis.
Why dont you open a 3 front war? attack Iran.
You give billions to israel for military aid
You must still have plenty of money to burn if you can waste it in the Middle East.
I thought a normal government would spend the money on job creation rather than money for killing people.

Ever noticed in NZ where the offender has wielded a machete but are on sickness benefit? We sometimes hide our unemployment statistics as well.
