755903 2009-03-12 18:36:00 Dear all,
With the last thread about noise cancelling headphones being made about a year ago, I have decided to start a new thread rather to bump up the existing one. In short, I am looking for a pair of headphones that provide noise cancelling function; my budget is around $150. I have tried out Sony MDR-NC7 headphones from DSE, but the noise cancelling feature is quite poor. Is there any worthy recommendations that I should consider?

Cheers :)

755904 2009-03-12 19:53:00 I assume you mean active noise cancelling (i . e . phones require a battery to cancel frequencies out)?

You'll struggle to get anything good for that price I fear . . . . . . :(

In an earlier post you mentioned BlackBox . Do you have any experience with them? They have some in that range now on special at $99

Yup - the Phitek/Black Box phones I tried a while back were flippin' amazing - but they were around $400 from memory! :o

The Sennheiser PXC 300 phones are nice too, but they're still around $330 I think. Maybe try to get some second-hand?

755910 2009-03-13 00:39:00 $150 will get you high quality sounding headphones without noise cancelling, so if you opt for noise cancelling, expect sound quality to be way lower than an equivalently priced non-noise cancelling headphone. utopian201 (6245)

Wrong product there pctek - that one's talking about a passive noise-cancelling boom mic, not active noise-cancelling headphones.

Wrong.
