855134 2010-02-04 03:02:00 I just opened MS Outlook to refer to a message in a particular folder.
The folder has gone.
I can only assume that I have deleted it in error.$#^&^(*(&_(!!!!

I do pretty regular back ups to an external HDD.
Is it possible to find in the backup just the file that I have lost?
Or do I have to back up all of outlook?
What will happen to files that have been added to since I made the backup?
:badpc:
Cheers
Rob

855135 2010-02-04 03:33:00 Do you specifically backup the OE .dbx files?
If so, copy that particular folder back in. If it is a subfolder of a main one and you only have the main one, yes it will overwrite I'm pretty sure thus loosing the new mails.

855136 2010-02-04 04:33:00 If it is Outlook (not OE) you can just open the backed up .pst file (File -> Open -> PST file) (you MAY need to rename it first) and copy the folder over. fred_fish (15241)
