Shoot in the limb thing would be preferable, of course. But in such a situation not many will be able to accurately aim. Yeah. I agree totally. No cop should be expected to risk brain damage, loss of an eye or teeth to some drugged out freak swinging a club at him/her. They are there to protect us and maintain order. Without them it would be US having to face those same louts... and I'd rather not face a P fiend on a rampage. As it is they face punches on a regular basis, and verbal abuse on a very regular basis. What other jobs carry that sort of risk and abuse profile? I don't fancy a society without Police. |

NZ police have had a horrible record with guns, their brains seem to turn to mush when they are under pressure and they do dumb things with guns. Enoughs enough dont allow untrained panicky cops access to guns would be a good start. Some cops in NZ have put Sledge Hammer to shame. Well you wouldn't get your face rearranged if you kept out of range of the golf club. Those cops had guns got cocky. |

Those best fitted to their environment survive, those least equipped don't. Revolution was invented so instrument manufacturers had something new to count and indicate, then sell to fit alongside the speedo, thereby doubling their market. |

Probably due to the fact,that unlike the thugs they deal with they are mostly good people doing a job keeping us safe. Terry thinks we should have Dixon of Dock Green running about,so do we all,the fact is we live in different times where respect is no longer a virtue. |
