Pardon R2???? what are you looking at???????? this was taken after one load of scrap had gone and a bambina was removed........... and some parts. it is said my dad was an inventor, and could make almost anything out of junk if he so desired, he spent hours in his shed............ the telly and the radios always making noise. making something. we have also come across 5? hand made propellors for the windmill he used to have on the shed, to catch the power made from the wind, to charge a lean too full of large battery's so he could run his shed when there were power outages...... and where we lived many a propeller ended up stuck in the ground half a km away, and when they went bang you didnt want to be anywhere near...... he also made a ride on lawn mower from scratch. he altered many cars over theyears and made new ones, he engineered, panelbeated, and was also a trained mechanic, and had spent 50 or so years running a farm and and a contracting business, of diggers and bulldozers........... and he drove the farm truck a lot, ( a international ........ it felt bloody huge when i was a kid) could take tractors and stuff on it. lol i have amazing memories coming to life from being in and sorting thro stuff in my dads shed.... This probably doesnt mean a lot to you people out there, but its just amazing looking at this shed, and just seeing so much stuff he touched, and ya still sorta half expect him to walk out saying no lets keep this stuff....:D beetle :) |

(Well, 2 actually - each in different places) Your father's Fixit/MakeItYourself talents sound just like my Mr Laura's combination of contracting & farming skills, so your description rings a lot of bells with me... The difference is that I am still procrastinating about the sort-out. There always seems to be more urgent tasks, giving me excuses to put it off. Meanwhile, the dust gathers... I'll think of you when I finally take the plunge. |
