The lead pipe thing is a myth - the Roman Empire fell because of changes to how men qualified to fight in the army, too many women inheriting land from dead soldiers (connected to how men qualified to fight in the army), and the remoteness of the Empire's outposts and the inherent difficulties of long supply lines. |

Back in 2000 my wife & I did the LA thing, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Disneyland etc. The first night out we were really hungry so ordered a starter each and a main. That was a mistake! Managed to get through the starters OK but didn't touch the mains :dogeye: From then on we only got the starters and they were usually chicken salads or something like that. |

| 757002 | 2009-03-17 17:52:00 | Exactly. We live in such a nice place that we can't help but get out and get fit. :p Even I've been riding to work the last few weeks, very fresh start to the day. Filled the car up in Christchurch weekend before last, haven't put any petrol in it since. Almost 700km. :D I feel very environmentally aware right now. 700km that's a fair amount, did you see last weeks Top Gear where they went from Switzerland to Blackpool on one tank of fuel? Riding to works the way to go gets the heart pumping in the mornings and I find in winter I stay warmer all day a bonus since I don't work in a heated building all day.:cool: See I'm wearing shades as it's sunny here as always |

| 757005 | 2009-03-17 19:42:00 | Did you see last weeks Top Gear where they went from Switzerland to Blackpool on one tank of fuel? Yep was great. One of the better episodes for a while actually. Did James use a Subaru? I can't remember now, I watched it when it first came out about 5 months ago. Riding to works the way to go gets the heart pumping in the mornings and I find in winter I stay warmer all day a bonus since I don't work in a heated building all day.:cool: See I'm wearing shades as it's sunny here as always Yep. I not a morning person at all, I function much better after a bit of excersize. Better for everyone. Isn't it walk to work day today in Nelson and Richmond? Or is it a national thing... |
