Is there something similar in NZ? Clearing out a lot of magazines and also got some broken electronics. Anyone know any schemes that gives you some $$ back for recycling?

756838 2009-03-16 03:37:00 I know of people who sold aluminum drink cans for $60 per wool bale full. This was a number of years back, so they might not do it anymore. somebody (208)
756839 2009-03-16 03:56:00 You'll be lucky, commodity prices are so low that recyclers are having a hard time...........we may have to pay China for taking our rubbish........

There are glass mountains, paper mountains, tyre mountains that are just causing embarrassment......

I'm hanging on to my scrap copper/brass and non ferrous until prices pick up again.

756840 2009-03-16 20:15:00 Many years ago we used to get a deposit back on bottles in NZ, then many years alter you could get money for cans, but I don't know that you do now with the recycling stations around. Bantu (52)
756841 2009-03-17 01:03:00 From memory, the Three Boys brewery offer $0.20 for each bottle of theirs returned to the brewery. Enough to inspire a drunken Road trip... start out from Auckland with a pellet... the_bogan (9949)
