| 758763 | 2009-03-23 10:23:00 | While waiting for the press f1 page to load, I was reading the ads, and I noticed the following link at the top left hand of the page of all pressf1 pages. Tell Western Digital how you reduce your carbon footprint for a chance to win a 16GB ipod This is a sponsored link (eg not a google advert) I clicked on it, as I thought by the time I had filled it in, the pressf1 page may have finished loading. THe link however didn't point to an ipod competition, instead it was for a watch. It was an ok watch, but certainly not as nice as an ipod, but I filled in the form anyway, and at the bottom in the conditions, it stated that the competition is only open to Austalian residents. You would think that the advertising that PC World choses to display on their webpage is actually checked, because this ad is always there at the top left of the page. I am sure that they don't want to intentionally mislead their website visitors, although I suppose each time someone clicks on the advert, they earn something. |
