| 758459 | 2009-03-22 06:34:00 | Hi Guys Lately I am sick of tvnz making up the news and exagerating things . Eg the other day they said that National was going to slash the amount of money spent on road safety campaigns . In actual fact the amount was 900 million down from 950 million that Labour was going to spend . So that is about 5% down on a planned increase ! so in actual fact the amount is probably the same as it is now ! I hardly call 5% slashing ! do you . Then they said that the rest of the country was annoyed that the Auckland regional road tax was being dropped in favour of a small nationwide increase . This was announced in the morning, and I listed to the radio all day and did not hear one complaint from the rest of the country . But on the 6pm news TVNZ said the rest of the country was angry at this . They interviewed one anti-roads campaigner . They also forgot to say that Christchurch road users would also not be paying a regional road tax . I wish TVNZ would just report the news and not make it up to make it sound sensational ! What do you think ? |

Sometimes it might happen to be on the radio when i am driving but I do not intentionally listen or watch news. 9 times out of 10 it is depressing. | Bantu (52) | ||

The News slot is an hour - not all of it is filled with advertising, previews and postviews of what you just saw / are about to see, If every citizen just goes around slacking or working and does nothing newsworthy, what else can they do but invent ? Ask not what the News can do for you, ask what you can do to make some News. ;) |

They aren't going to sit there and say: Nothing has happened today so we are going to play some martial music, heaps of ads, even put up a test pattern. No they will over sensationalize some trivial news and talk it up. The media all being labour supporters will hit on the Nats as they try to fix the economic mess the reds put us in. |
