I recently won a PS3 through some online competition. As i have no use for one at all, I thought I might sell it. New PS3s are going for like $500-600 on TM, but i wondered if there are any better places in terms of price to sell it, as well as sales fee?
Cheers,
John

Don't be greedy.

TM has the best coverage anywhere.

Thats a pretty good price, you would be lucky to get 500-600 espeeciallyas it probably won't have a warranty, as it was given to you. They are going to drop in price anyway, as sony are under presuure to reduce the price. They do also make good bluray DVD players.

758174 2009-03-20 23:54:00 Did you win it from Netguide?? From their Dec/Jan Xmas monster giveaway? One of the prizes was a PS3. I cant see why it wouldnt have a warranty.

This Xbox better have some kind of warranty. As I also won it in a giveaway (the above)

758175 2009-03-21 00:15:00 Why wouldn't it have a warranty ??

Might be a bit awkward claiming a warranty if it were a give away, as you would need to get the proof of purchase from the giver - OR some items have a warranty card you fill out and send in.

758176 2009-03-21 00:23:00 This Xbox came with a booklet labelled warranty.

With all the terms and conditions etc. Nothing to fill in and return though

But yup, the only proof I've got, is the email from Netguide saying I had won it.

But I did register it (when I thought I was going to get a replacement CD - PGR4) lol. BUT that didnt happen (you need a credit card).

Seems a high price to me - are they actually selling at that, or is that a hopeful bottom price? Lots of stuff on TM doesn't sell.

Technically the warranty should apply but the owner has to show they legitimately came by the PS3. In other words it wasn't stolen. Buying from a stranger through TM isn't exactly peace of mind in that regard.

758178 2009-03-21 06:08:00 Trade me's the best place to sell as it reaches out to more people than say, www.sella.co.nz You could also take it into somewhere like cash converters if it doesn't sell.

If you do use trade me, make sure you check out the success fee's first
