757841 2009-03-19 21:10:00 I still have IE6 on my main machine - never use it as it has too many holes. May download this & see if it's any better than IE7. autechre (266)

Not too bad

757845 2009-03-19 22:27:00 It's probably an addon / toolbar thats causing it

Some things are incompatible with IE 8

Unless you update them

Have you actually tried IE8

As quoted by one of the MS guys
You really sure at least try it out and see how it works and performs for you. If you still don't like it, that's fine. But you never know. We've made some very good improvements to the overall browser with IE8 and I think its worth a try. Simply not trying it out due to bad history shouldn't be the reason you not try IE8. I'd rather you turn around and say "IE8 doesn't work for me because..." having tried it out etc

Personally I would rather Use IE over FF - I still have FF, but rarely use it.

757848 2009-03-19 23:20:00 I like IE for its simplicity sometime. I personally use FF, but simple end users like IE because it just...works.

With FF, there's sometimes bus, add-on incompatibility etc

757849 2009-03-19 23:25:00 Funny most of the world computers run on IE.
For some strange reason Norton Anti Virus, AVG and IE get bad press here quite out of step with the real world.
I have chrome but it wont let me do things esp with pdf files so I click the ol OE button and it works sweet.
My son has 3 browsers on his computer FF, IE and Chrome and switches between them with no probs.
