856310 2010-02-08 21:32:00 I have logitech mouse keyboard - wireless with x86 7 ultimate, no issues, even when using mouse or keyboard out of sleep!

Are you using hub, how many unpowered devices are you using in USB slots?

856311 2010-02-08 21:48:00 USB devices dont have I/O 's or IRQ's. So cant conflict. (like other hardware (modems etc). This prob has only just started (tonight). Since its been installed, this has never happened till now. It doesnt affect anything else but the mouse.

How would the mouse talk to the CPU without an IRQ ?

How would you use a mouse that isn't an I/O device ?

Anyhow seems like charging the batteries has sorted your problem.;)

856312 2010-02-08 21:48:00 I'm not using any hubs, all are onboard USB ports. None of the USB devices that are plugged in require external power (tuner, webcam, Ipod dock, the transmitter / base for the wireless KB and mouse, and card reader on the front)). And the printer.

Obviously that goes by power. Thats it. It hasnt happened before (not until last night). Since I installed Win7 x64

That was the reason WHY USB was invented, to remove conflicts that older hardware had (using IRQ's). If you click on any USB device in device manager, you'll notice none of them have a resource tab, so none of them will (obviously) have IRQ's, or an I/O range. If USB had IRQ's, there would be no point in mobos having 10 -12+ ports on it. You'll get conflicts with anything you plug into them

856314 2010-02-08 23:22:00 Nope Logitech wireless mouse and KB no issues here, other Win7 machine wired KB/MS and np. Haven't seen this issue mentioned as wide spread in hardware forums.

Are you sure you on the right track and 100% of your CPU time is getting eaten up by something nasty which causes the symptom of jerky mouse?, cause that can def happen.

856315 2010-02-08 23:29:00 There's nothing nasty on here. I would know if there was. Its ok now. Dont ask me why lol. I have no idea. Dont know if KB977074 had anything to do with it (this is some kind of reliability / stability update). People have reported that this update made things worse. But I uninstalled it last night, then reinstalled it. And then it decided to behave. The same prob is on the MS Windows 7 forum Speedy Gonzales (78)

Every USB can use the same IRQ.

I/O = input/output, if a mouse is not one of these what is it?

856317 2010-02-09 01:42:00 The USB controller itself however has the capability to have conflicts and cause problems... Agent_24 (57)
