758594 2009-03-22 23:01:00 MMmmm ... Privoxy does a great job with nuking Ads, but from there its been amazing to see how fast Chrome's 2 BETA is! I use Firefox mostly at work and Chrome at home ... gotta admit, I notice the difference.

Dont even wanna *try* IE8 ;)

758595 2009-03-22 23:03:00 IE8 is actually pretty good / fast. With or without Privoxy. IE7Pro does a good job / still works with IE8

Well, I didnt notice any diff between IE 7 and 8. Both loaded as fast as each other

758596 2009-03-22 23:49:00 Yes well I have been using Opera for years now, and PressF1 has always loaded pretty quickly.

Just timed a test now, and it loaded in under 2 seconds.

Mind you - I am running a addblock script/filter :D

758597 2009-03-23 00:12:00 Privoxy does a good job, (just as long as you put the ips in under proxy.), .

What does as long as you put the ips in under proxy mean?

In your proxy settings for your browser - you need to put the IP of your computer that is running privoxy (?)

Correct. You need to put 127.0.0.1 and 8118 as the port, (under proxy in whatever browser (for http), for privoxy to work.

On some browsers, it may put it in automatically. But you may have to tick it to enable it

You'll know its working because when you go to sites, it (the Privoxy icon on the taskbar, changes to green, and it looks like a radar).

If it doesnt do this, the above ips havent been added
