| 758469 | 2009-03-22 19:00:00 | They have a slow news day file which they can pull and pad out the news half hour. They aren't going to sit there and say: Nothing has happened today so we are going to play some martial music, heaps of ads, even put up a test pattern. No they will over sensationalize some trivial news and talk it up. The media all being labour supporters will hit on the Nats as they try to fix the economic mess the reds put us in. Very True! And the most of the news stories start to become boring after the first five minutes. Why not just say what happened and why in a concise way? Luckily we record the news and can whizz past the unnecessary stuff. Another annoying habit is putting sports stories among the news. While the death of a famous horse racing caller may be of interest to the racing fraternity I don't see why that should be forced on those of us who are not at all interested. Put the story among the sports section where it belongs. Thank goodness for modern technology that makes it possible to select what news we want to watch and dump the rest. |

Reporters today I can understand them, but the teens of today that may become reporters in the future might not be so easy to understand. So many teens these days add a lot of words into sentences that mean nothing. "Like" "You Know" and adding "A" at the end of almost every sentence. I am sure Schools don't teach them that. |

Prime is catching up quick.. You may as well watch E channel news. It has the same sort of content.. | paulw (1826) | ||

TV1 news needs a revamp those 2 at the moment look like they hate each other. You know what I mean that sort of look when when you have to appear to be nice to someone that you detest. |

School kids can now fill out NCEA exams in "Txt speak" and as long as the marker can read it they will get marked just like anything else . |
