758256 2009-03-21 05:42:00 Hey all,

Was just wondering, dunno how it came up, but aaaaages ago you used to be able to buy this product called Taties (pronounced Tay-tees). They're a kind of chip / pasta food that you boil in oil for a few seconds and they expand.

I used to be able to buy them from the Avondale Pak 'n Save (A little trip to buy them, but still), however IIRC they stopped stocking them a year or so ago. They were the last place I knew of in all of AK that sold them.

I believe Cob n Co used to also serve them as entrees?

So yeah, if anybody knows where I can order some, even if its possible to get them in from overseas, that'd be awesome.

Thanks

758258 2009-03-21 06:31:00 Have you tried asking at places like Rattrays (if they still exist) or Toops?

I'm pretty sure I saw some recently ... I think in Countdown, but am not 100% sure on that. Recently being sometime in the last 6 months

Prawn/Shrimp crackers you get at Asian food shops are similar... but flat instead of round, and not as dense.
