856225 2010-02-08 00:41:00 Hope someone may have some ideas I purchased some compatible ink cartridges.

I have an epson styles photo RX650 when I inserted the cartridge i got a message say ink cartridge in not recognized please reinstall cartridge.

I asked the person what i should do after many attempts i finally gave up and went and brought some more ink cartridge (compatible) that work fine.

I was told by the person that i brought the first lot of cartridges of that it was me that was at fault.
He also told me that i should of pulled of the clear plastic at the bottom of the cartridge ( the one that seals the ink) but i have never had to do this as my printer penetrates a hole to let ink flow out.

I told him that the circut board seems to be different on his cartridge but he has not commented on that.

I do not want to waste the ink that is in these cartridges but is there any other way I can make these work?

Sorry for the long winded message, but hope someone may have some ideas.

856226 2010-02-08 00:52:00 Welcome to PF1 -

Compatible ink cartridges, like refilled cartridges can sometimes cause problems with printers. Other times they work fine.

been to many peoples houses where there is printing problems , install genuine cartridges and problem solved. I have an old office jet V40 - put in anything thats not genuine ( refilled or compatible) and it throws a big hiss fit

I told him that the circut board seems to be different on his cartridge but he has not commented on that Maybe its been labeled incorrectly for the make of printer. Considering others work OK.

856227 2010-02-08 01:36:00 I used to be in the industry.
It is well known they arnt as reliable as the real McCoy (just never admitted)
We used to replace faulties, sight unseen, no questions asked, this kept customers happy.

Sometimes the cart is chipped for another country (yeah Epson) & athough it fits it wont work.
Seller sounds a bit dodgey to me, go somewhere else next time. They are so cheap (some were 50c each cost), dont see why he didnt just replace it.

Should have pulled it off, not should of.

Yep, you should have pulled off any packaging covering it.
Do so and see if they now work.
If they don't go back and ask for a refund.

856229 2010-02-08 09:12:00 From my very sad experience with the Melco CISS continuous ink system, I'd strongly encourage you to avoid their product. Worst ink I've ever used. Paul.Cov (425)
