| 760610 | 2009-03-29 23:53:00 | Hi, My cellphone was mugged by some thugs about few months ago. Anyway's I recently logged into my account on "My vodafone" and noticed that the sim card was recently topped up and being used. I was wondering if the NZ Police can actually trace where the sim card is located, since I know in some asian countries the location can be found, but can it be done in NZ? regards, |

However I would have thought that Vodafone could shut the SIM card down - if you could prove it used to belong to you and could produce a Police Report that your phone/SIM was stolen... Then when the user came in to ask why the phone wasn't working, they could nab him/her... |

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. The number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them the code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use or sell it. | Roscoe (6288) | ||

And by the way, I'm scoring your missus, and she's not worth the $20 she charges!" Crack open a cold beer, and watch all hell break loose  :D |
