| 760321 | 2009-03-28 21:40:00 | I tried ASHAMPOO WinOptimizer 5 that came with the disk this month. Looked good and when I tried it (after enormous problems getting it registered etc) seemed to do what it claimed. I was quite pleased but then found my TurboCad program was corrupted. It may not be Ashampoo that did it but I deleted it just in case and reinstalled TurboCad. Anybody else tried it ? It would be interesting to see some feedback - hopefully better than mine. Tom |

Software I have used: Burning Studio <<-- This has worked on burning many different formats where others Failed. Magical Snap Cover studio ----- Now incorporated into Burning Studio 8 MP3 Audio Center Movie Shrink and Burn Edited: I actually install the free versions of their Burning studio (from mag CD's) on customers PC's, every one so far has said how easy it is to use, and no ones had any failures apart from operator trouble Eg: trying to burn more than 700MB + on a CD. |

I know now why the registering was so involved, as I have started getting their advertising stuff. As I mentioned I am not sure if their program was responsible for my problems with TurboCad but anyway have got rid of Ashampoo and will not be taking up any of their offers. My problems with Turbocad I have decided needs advice and I have started a new thread on that. Tom |

| 760326 | 2009-03-31 00:20:00 | Agreed . I know now why the registering was so involved, as I have started getting their advertising stuff . Are you kidding or something ??? You must have been doing something wrong . I just installed win Opt from the PC world CD, and made up another account to see what the problem was . Its (STILL) so easy its not funny . What is so hard about Setting up an account and getting the key??? Once you install the program - the window opens, you click on " get Full version" Enter in your email address . open your email and theres a link, click that - takes you back to their reg page . UNTICK the check box that says about Ashampoo community, change the country to New Zealand . ( NO other details are required if you actually read the page) Click send - a new page opens - You go to your email and there is the key OR you click on "free Reg keys" and there is your key - copy, then go back to the open application, click on the button " get Key" to enter the key, paste the key in - hit check key - DONE Simple as . The reason you are getting mail from them is because you may have left the box ticked . Hardly their fault if a person doesn't untick boxes or doesn't read the full form . Okay - I do get the odd mail from them as well, but no more than 2-3 a month - get lots more spam than that . |

I just installed win Opt from the PC world CD, and made up another account to see what the problem was . Its (STILL) so easy its not funny . What is so hard about Setting up an account and getting the key??? It's very easy to make it hard . First you need the ability to be able to confuse things . Then you need a grounding in DOS based programs where registration was rarely called for . Then you should be born impatient (I am a male so that part was easy) . It all worked well for me - I went round and round and kept getting the same screen popping up - in fact several time I had the choice of which identical screen to try using . But having very efficiently made the job ten times harder than it needed to be I got the thing running . However I may have been hard on Ashampoo . It may be TurboCad that is responsible for my problems - TurboCad is known to be a bit fragile in some respects . I am thinking of a new thread there . In the meantime I am wanting to know if other people have problems with Ashampoo . Or is it a really good program . |

| 760328 | 2009-03-31 21:26:00 | What peopel have to look for when filling in any reg forms - is only the basic's - no need to give more information than is required . One Item MANY people over look is some places have check boxes already ticked to receive junk mail for example, sometimes they are not to easy to spot - but a bit of careful looking and they are there . Personally any program (well most) that fiddles / Alters the registry has the ability to completely screw things up . I think we have all seen reg fix programs cause more damage than good or unexpected results . One that does work well, is the option in Ccleaner . As for ashampoo products - as I listed before, the ones I use daily are the Burning studio & Magical Snap Only times I have had problems with any burning is when I might try to squeeze in just a bit more on a CD than its meant to - over burn in other words . - So that my fault not the software . Once I had a question regarding Magical Snap (screen capture software) I wanted to alter some settings that I couldn't find - the program has loads of different options to alter screen captures - I emailed them - with 2 hours I had a personal reply detailing exactly how to do what I wanted - Impressed . |
