Now Sky need to put Prime on Freeview  Now that they will be broadcasting TV One & 2 in HD via satellite will those of us that can't get Freeview|HD be able to receive these in HD?? Or will we have to pay Sky to get them in HD? |

| 759585 | 2009-03-25 21:45:00 | You can get tv1 and 2 in hd on freeview if you buy a freeview hd stb. also if you are a sports fan then freeview is trash no sport ok so they have tvnz sport but thats always off most of the time. I also dont see the point in tv3 launching tv3+1 in a few days who wants to see tv3 in a one hour delay mode waste of money. |

| 759588 | 2009-03-25 23:21:00 | I am a bit confused about the freeview HD bit. I have freeview on a sat dish working all right on an old tv (about 12 years old) with the freeview receiver top box. My wife wants to watch Chinese TV8 which is freeview HD, it says my area in Glen Eden ok for signal. What do I have to buy other than a special freeview UHF aerial? do I have to have a HD tv to watch it if I dont, do I have to buy another receiver box? |

You will need a UHF aerial, anyone should work, there are no special Freeview ones. You can also view on a normal TV but you don't get HD obviously. You will also need a Freeview|HD set-top-box unless you upgraded your TV to a flat screen with the HD tuner built in :D |

I have TVNZ 6 & 7 on freeview, and I certainly wouldn't get sky, just to get those on it to. Tey are pretty poor.I would be more interested in prime on freeview, but I can still get prime via UHF. Apart from sport, freeview and analogue signals, plus viewing TV on the internet suits all my requirements. I certainly don't miss having sky, who are a monopoly in NZ and are very expensive. |
