759225 2009-03-25 01:45:00 Oh hum, I said this about 10 yrs ago.... SolMiester (139)
759226 2009-03-25 02:00:00 Yes, the worst kept secret in the world.

I'm in two minds about it though - on the one hand she will leave NZ (yay!), on the other hand, just think what damage she could do at the UN in a position of influence!!

I just hope that the bureaucracy at the UN spikes her guns...

759227 2009-03-25 05:47:00 Guess that's why she was so keen to sign up to all UN conventions over the past 9 years. Looking after her self rather than the rest of us.. paulw (1826)
759228 2009-03-25 05:55:00 Good on her, I wish her well. Metla (12)
759229 2009-03-25 06:00:00 While I will certainly admit she likes power, I also think she genuinely cares about helping people. I don't like or agree with her methods (and there's no way in a million years I'd ever vote for her), but that doesn't make her any less capable - good on her, and fingers crossed she does a good job. 759230 2009-03-25 06:32:00 Technically speaking, she will be remembered, she was very effective as a politician, having such a long career in politics and climbing via the ranks and winning 3 terms is it ....

Not many politicians has her track record.

Being accepted for such a role, illustrates her acceptance around the world.

759233 2009-03-25 10:08:00 Well, NZ government policy (under Helen) has been influenced by the UN (anti-smacking) - but then I guess it is clear to all now exactly why that was... johcar (6283)
