857352 2010-02-11 21:30:00 Hi Guys

I have a friend who wants to get a new laptop.

She just uses email (Incredimail) with all of its pics and sounds etc (dur)

There seems to be 2 ranges of laptops on the market today. They seem to be in the price range of $700 and $1400.

She is inclined to go for the $1400 range.

I am saying all she needs is a $700 one and spend the difference on good broadband for the year. She is on dial up now.

She sends and receives lots of jokes and small movie clips

What say you ?

857354 2010-02-12 19:03:00 Ok, thanks PCtek but what about my price bracket question !
Surely it is a big issue in the stores as well.
And for all Laptop buyers

857355 2010-02-12 19:22:00 Don't look at the price.
Look at the specifications - what does she need, what features etc. Then look at models with those specs..........

857356 2010-02-13 04:22:00 I've told you what she needs.
All she does is email jokes and small videos and music.
I think she should go with a $700 one and spend the saving on broadband.
I am just asking if you guys agree with me ?

857358 2010-02-13 10:48:00 Is the $700 one a netbook? You wouldnt want one as your main/only machine as they are too small. Also stay away from celeron CPUs. Get a dual core pentium at least. CYaBro (73)
857359 2010-02-13 22:22:00 I'm looking for a laptop for around $700 too. Is this good? www.playtech.co.nz only a celeron cpu though
