857402 2010-02-12 01:15:00 Wolf will never live this down, poor chap... :crying

You can get a nice Tosh L500 for around $1200, hate to say it but Lemmings have a very good deal on one at the mo...

Note that Lemmings have got Windows 7 on this one, whereas the ASUS shown by Coaster has the dreaded Vista.

857403 2010-02-12 02:56:00 I couldnt imagine you would get much time to use it running thru the desert like Beau Geste.

O/T I know, but what with the Foreign Legion ?
I was named after Beau's brother (Digby)- True ! my mum went to see the move in the late 40's.

www.ascent.co.nz

This one looks promising. Any other sites I should try?

857405 2010-02-12 10:42:00 The Toshiba from Harvey Norman looks nice, and it's got a proper keyboard! Agent_24 (57)
857406 2010-02-13 09:04:00 Just noticed this:

*Due to the 32-bit operation system's limitation, only 3GB will show up with a 4GB memory. The 64-bit operating system will not have this issue. For more information, please check Microsoft's support sit

Knew I read it somewhere, but was the 32 or the 64 better? Will the above be an issue?

857407 2010-02-13 09:40:00 The jury is still out on the benefits of 64 bit OS. Depends on whether you have 64 bit apps. If you don't, then your system may be worse than if you had a 32 bit OS. johcar (6283)
857408 2010-02-13 20:21:00 I have 4GB of RAM and am running 32-Bit Windows XP

I can only use 3.3GB of my RAM but I have yet to see my total memory usage go over 2GB anyway.
