762006 2009-04-03 07:29:00 Looking at buying a PSP, I see the 3000 series is promoted as having an "enhanced" screen.

Has anyone who has used one able to tell me if that's true, and if so in what way is it enhanced?

762007 2009-04-03 07:45:00 Its supposed to be have less glare on its screen and better definition.

Read this (translate.google.co.nz) , and look at the screenshot comparing the PSP 2000 to the 3000. Quite a difference:thumbs:

762008 2009-04-03 08:10:00 The problem is the reviews don't correspond with press releases.

like this

The bad: Despite improvements, problems and annoyances remain: screen exhibits noticeable jaggies and scanlines during high-motion video and gaming sequences.

Plus there is a reported yellow hue.

Both issues as demonstrated in teh attached pictures.

OK.

Wait.

I was seeking real world feedback from peoples whose input I respect/trust.

Sadly you fail.

Well the photos you posted seem to provide good evidence against the newer model... I have used one of the old ones and the screen seemed good, didn't look like there was any reason to upgrade it really

762012 2009-04-03 09:28:00 Yep, the photo's look bad, But reviewers tend to look for fault and blow it all out of proportion, I have no doubt they were the two most drastic results they could come up with.

The reason I didn't mention the reported faults was in the hope people didn't notice the behaviour if it hadn't been pointed out top them.

Starting from after Easter I'm going to be doing a full day of travelling every week so I'm going to buy a PSP to keep me entertained (probably shouldn't have sold the one I had) I would like to buy new but not if the screen is worse then on the old model.

But to get the older model means trademe, which means a high probability of buying crap, The screens tend to scuff easily, and you can't see what condition they are in by looking at the photo's.
