761670 2009-04-01 21:25:00 A while back I posted a thread about a dialup problem a customer of mine was having.
I installed an external and configure his PC correctly. He rang back and it was causing ringing on the line. I re-corrected his dialup stuff and told him to ring a phone guy.
Phone guy rings me today and he had replaced one filthy corroded jackpoint and one wire.
The place is a tip - coal, cigarette residue, cooking filth, etc.
Phone guy re-corrected his dialup settings (afgain) with my help, and it still wouldn't dialup, phone guy had tested using his phone.....I told him if any other jackpoint or wiring was stuffed the modem still wouldn't like it even if phones did. I said he'd have to check the others and he said in a horrified tone"You have to be joking".

He did in the end.........so all is well until the next bit of equipment expires from filth.

So glad I didn't have to go back.........

Go on TradeMe and look up gas masks or similar in case you have to go back.

Let the Telecom guy catch botulism or typhoid or whatever..........
