761055 2009-03-31 18:19:00 I just saw a nifty piece of junk (or so I think in any case). Painter at work got a solar-powered torchlight from a Resene expo, but what impressed me was the little connections on the side of the torch to take mobile phone chargers. Nifty.

761057 2009-03-31 21:29:00 I'm always dubious of a trader who trumpets: "Please check out my other listings for more great bargins." :groan: johcar (6283)
761058 2009-03-31 23:11:00 Haha, sounds almost as useful as a wind-powered desk fan.... ;) Chilling_Silence (9)

I have bought a bit of stuff from this guy (SteveB) from memory an air orbital sander a scallop dredge.
Seems to be a good trader.
All the stuff pretty junky as its made in commy china. SAnder has done about 5 buses cost $80 and its still going.
The torch charge would be good for tramper or shooter.

I don't know - TM is blocked at our work so I will only be able to see it tonight at home.

Chilly, but if you get "there" and you realise you've left the mobile charger or if you arrive only to find no power - this thing will do the job (or so I think). Nifty piece of cr*p to rust in a drawer somewhere (or perhaps in the car).

Almost as good as the torch I saw at Mitre10, with the winding handle (no batteries needed), in the event of a major power outage that lasts days (e.g. Akl) this will be really gooooood.

LOL

761062 2009-04-01 00:50:00 Have used the hand-powered ones before with great success! A solar-powered torch just "sounds" retarded, even if it does have its merits of charging during daylight ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
761063 2009-04-01 08:41:00 A solar powered torch is proper daylight saving. R2x1 (4628)
761064 2009-04-01 08:46:00 I've seen one that can charge laptops too, but quite expensive Blam (54)
