858492 2010-02-14 22:19:00 My new PC has started running very very slow. Simple applications eg Windows Explorer will take ages to open.
Have not installed any new programs or applications.
Have done a System Restore.
Have tried turning off AV, Outlook and MSM.
It will come right and think everything is ok then it reverts to slow mode!
Anyone any thoughts for a quick fix while I wait on my supplier to respond?!
Many thanks

858493 2010-02-14 22:24:00 Have you installed all the updates. Are you using a pic as the background, or a solid colour background?? I know the latter can slow win7 down. Its a known issue

Post a log, and we'll see whats in it. Even tho you said you havent installed anything (altho dont know why you used SR, if you havent). Go to start/run, type msconfig. Go to the boot tab / advanced options. Change the number of processors to the max, then reboot

858498 2010-02-14 22:56:00 Click Start, type in reli select "Review Reliability History" When the chart pops up, look for a red circle with a white X - click it, look under Critical Event -- and if thats the time it slowed, there will list the problem app (s). wainuitech (129)
