| 858345 | 2010-02-14 19:13:00 | I'm with inphinity, I'd try explaining what you're hoping to achieve overall, add just a little bit of extra information. There's a good chance people might be able to offer an alternative, or a better way to achieve your final goal, rather than just solve your immediate roadblock. | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
| 858346 | 2010-02-14 22:28:00 | Stop people getting past the filter. this is an ongoing problem for my network admins. I have been in such a role for about 10 years, so my advise is from experience. you can find such a list but it will be incomplete. proxy servers come and go every day. the users only have to find one that you missed and you fail. depending on the environment, you should have policy about what people can and cant do on the internet. part of that policy should be "users on the network are not to bypass any security, this includes turning off anti-virus program or bypassing the proxy rules" once you have policy then monitor the logs, when you fine someone using a proxy you have take action. a public hanging is good to keeping people in line :-) |

| 858349 | 2010-02-15 00:27:00 | A semi-decent solution is to force users through your own proxy to get out to the internet, it's not as easy to cascade proxy servers ;) | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
