858512 2010-02-15 00:53:00 Is this an RTM version of Win 7?? Shouldn't the version be 6.1.7600 or something?

You can tick these then tick fix checked

The version of HJT you used is also out of date. It's up to 2.02 / 2.03 beta

858513 2010-02-15 01:14:00 Speedy – thanks – what is an “RTM version of Win 7?? Should the version be 6.1.7600 or something?” Are you saying that this is not a legit or current copy? There will be a punch up with my supplier if this is the case……………….. stuffed (1469)
858514 2010-02-15 01:31:00 If you run computer then go to help / about, what does that say for the version?? RTM is the final release of windows 7 Speedy Gonzales (78)
858515 2010-02-15 01:42:00 The Version is a side issue anyway, even if its RTM performance should not be a issue.

You guys should start with a few basics first, is there anything chewing CPU time in taskmanager with (show processes from all users), what's the memory usage like?. Haven't seen the basic stuff asked or answered, its been straight down the Malware path.

858517 2010-02-15 01:50:00 Thats ok then its right, the log info is wrong. Probably coz it doesnt know what windows 7 is. Did you change the cpus under msconfig to 2 or whatever the highest # is. Then reboot? Is the hdd SATA or IDE?? Speedy Gonzales (78)
858518 2010-02-15 01:50:00 Version is fine Battleneter2 (9361)
858519 2010-02-15 02:00:00 Are you using an external hdd as well?? Could be the external hdd/s making it slow. Turn them off, or remove them. See what happens

Wonder if this has something to do with it

Do you need network magic?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
858520 2010-02-15 02:09:00 Using a 1TB backup drive – has not been a problem – that am aware of.
Found Network Magic great with 3 different OS’s on the network – XP, Vista and 7 although thank goodness the Vista laptop has gone west.
Thanks you guys for all this help – currently the computer is running fine!!
Still no word from the help desk from my supplier……….
Meanwhile having to “put up” with Tim Finn, Boh Runga and Dave Dobbyn doing their practice session for tonight’s concert at Millbrook………….sigh.

858521 2010-02-15 02:13:00 Is the 1 TB internal or external?? If its external unplug it then reboot. See if its any better. And is the internal hdd with windows on it the bootdisk in the BIOS? See if USB legacy support is in the BIOS. Enable it. If its disabled Speedy Gonzales (78)
