762556 2009-04-05 23:52:00 I'm looking at X series Sony or maybe wait for something better. I want at unit least 3 HDMI outputs. 1=PS3, 1=MySkyHDi, 1=DVD/HDD recorder and probably a 4th maybe as a spare for future technology might be worthwhile.

Built in Freeview and Full HD, maybe something like the Sony KDL-55X4500 model or the KDL-46X4500 model would suffice.

762557 2009-04-06 02:46:00 I got a Sony 42" W4500 on Boxing day. It isn't too 'excessive' like the halo X series, but it is better than a no frills one.

I got it because it is the cheapest, lowest end Sony with Motionflow.

762558 2009-04-06 08:37:00 My local TV repair guy recommends Panasonic for both LCD and plasma. Note he does repairs only and does not retail TV's. tutaenui (1724)

Both my parents & my sister bought 42" Panasonic plasmas & they are horrible. My Toshiba LCD has it's own issues, but nowhere near as bad as the Panasonic Plasmas.

Probably the brand that keeps his business going:xmouth:

What was horrible about the Plasmas ? Personally I would go for Plasma over
LCD, because I prefer the picture on the plasmas....But others prefer LCD.

I bought a Panasonic plasma last year and I am very happy with it. Colours are great (especially black, which many LCDs don't do well, so not so good form watching scary movies) and the UI is pretty easy on both the TV and the HDD recorder (same brand).

762563 2009-04-07 02:22:00 I am very pleased with my Sony Bravia V series. Especially like the usb port in the side so can do a slide show of my photos. Bought it at Appliance Shed in Papatoetoe. Saved $400!!! gradebdan (2186)

I think the V-series Bravia will be the choice
