That being said, RE: not trusting sales, I've had many people tell me saving money "sounds too good to be true"(direct quote). I dunno. Can't wait till this recession gets worse! Never thought I'd say that :D |

Never thought I'd say that :D Best response I can think of to that is "Saving you money *makes* me money and gets me another customer - that's why it's worth my while to bug you about it." That way you're obviously getting something out of it, and the 'free lunch suspicion syndrome' goes away. |

A good way to save money is to cut the advertising budget maybe. Or alternatively start a business which does nothing but Advertising in order to make money. |

| 760864 | 2009-03-31 01:25:00 | PC shops - we've noticed the retail side of things drop right off, but the repairs are busier than ever. Obviously thats not the same everywhere though. Take Pctek as an example. I just did a build. I closed the shop not because I wasn't paying its bills, I did. But the bills were too much for a one person business. And the landlord wanted a renewal of 3 years too. Even negotiating he would probably still want two. And that may or may not be a good idea, I figured it was safest to not. I don't have to come up with $1700 for the thing now. Not counting claimable rates, power etc, I only need $400 odd for expenses. I have had a reasonable amount of fixes since moving back here and when I'm not doing anything in particular I'm not wasting time in a building, I can get on with all the usual household crap. I haven't had as much time to rummage through threads here lately either. Today I've been a bit lazy - I sent husband back to Gore with the returns...... As for the original question, I get calls all the time from various places. Its as common as dirt that they start off saying how much money they will save you. Hey, I save way more by not buying there whatever at all. Nothing personal Chillingsilence.....I have no idea what your product/service is.......but I hate cold callers anyway. I ignored Synnex even for a while, because they rang me. Illogical perhaps, but I figure if they are doing well, why chase small businesses like me then? |

Ok, your product/service may involve something that benefits others in a financial way but thats just more salesspeak. |
