| 857795 | 2010-02-13 00:57:00 | My oh my, it is no wonder this laptop is slow. It is crippled with startups as Speedy surmised. Firstly, you have the infamous ACER multiple program crippleware loaded (don't ask why a manufacturer would cripple their hardware even before it leaves the factory). Secondly, you are running multiple AV/Spyware programs, including the crippling Symantec/Nortons package. Unless the Symantec package is 2010, uninstall it. Make sure you uninstall the updater as well. Then decide which AV you want. You have MSE, PCTools and Nortons at the moment. Thirdly, there are others you don't need like the Nero stuff, Lightscribe, QT, Adobe Reader, Bonjour etc Maybe this program can help www.pcdecrapifier.com But, if you don't know what to do, maybe better to give it to someone who does. In any event, it would be really good to have an image of your C: drive before starting the cleanup. One thing I am certain of, you won't know your machine after it is cleared up. --------------- Bit too slow - never mind. |
