858051 2010-02-13 08:46:00 Can't seem to get onto the track with Google.

My FF 3.6 crashes quite often. It only seems to crash when there has been no activity for a while as I only see it when coming back to the computer after an absence. Sometimes it has been in sleep mode but it also happens with no sleep mode. I get a window from Mozilla apologising for the crash and do I want to send crash data.

Nothing apparent in the event logs which is peculiar.

Only seems to be doing this with 3.6 (I think!).

Anyone else seen this?

OS=W7 64bit.

858052 2010-02-13 08:52:00 Umm nope FF 3.6 is fine here with Win7 x64. WHAT addons have you installed?

Doesnt sound like a FF prob if its crashing when you wake it up

Google Toolbar
IE View
Java Console
MS . NET Framework Assistant 1 . 1
Tab Mix Plus

Various Plugins that just seem to appear!
e . g . Foxit Rdr, getplusPlus for adobe, Java Deployment Toolkit, Picas, Shockwave, Silverlight, WGA

Guess it must be addon related or else all would be having this happen . Every FF update has the potential of leaving you with unstable addons .

Bet no one else has version 32 . 6!!!!

858054 2010-02-13 09:53:00 Well true updates may not be compat with the addons you installed. Wouldnt be surprised if google toolbar is crashing it Speedy Gonzales (78)
858055 2010-02-13 10:02:00 start it in safe mode, if it doesnt crash then, enable each addon seperatley to see what/if they are causing the problem GameJunkie (72)
858056 2010-02-13 10:03:00 Try Mozilla in SafeMode, without addons and give it a whirl. If it doesn't crackup, then at least you know you're on the right track. Troubleshooting is O so fun!

Possibly this one since an earlier version of FF killed it for a while

858059 2010-02-14 01:28:00 Thanks guys. I mainly wanted to see whether the crashing was more widespread but apparently not.

So, yes, suspicion points to addons/plugins. I have already uninstalled a couple of ones that were disabled by the FF update - so far no crashes but too early to tell. At least it's no biggie as FF restarts with tabs re-loaded so I will eventually calm the beast!

Yes, Gary, I remember seeing something about a couple of MS plugins causing trouble, too.
