2010-02-13 04:11:00 | I'm looking at getting this laptop. From what else I've looked at in a similar price range this seems much much better. But it seems like it might almost be too good to be true. Does anyone have any experience with this laptop, and if so what is it like? | BeShakey (15626) | |
2010-02-13 04:56:00 | Hi BeShakey, Welcome to PressF1. That really depends on the price you're going to pay for it now doesn't it ;) Personally I'd rather get a Desktop for half the RRP, but yeah that's just me.

2010-02-14 00:56:00 | Thanks. I've seen them for around $2300. I'm a desktop fan too, but will be doing a bit of travelling in the next couple of years, so this is intended to be something that I can take from country to country. | BeShakey (15626) | |
2010-02-14 01:02:00 | Unfortunantly no answers to this thread yet however I narrowed by search to two models and as one of them is the DV7 then you might like the second of my choice also. www.pressf1.co.nz

2010-02-14 04:29:00 | Thanks. Another option in the same price range, but with a better graphics card - Gateway P79 - pricespy.co.nz Isn't in stock at the moment, but I have some time up my sleeve. Anyone else have any thoughts on a good desktop replacement in the $2000 to $2500 range? | BeShakey (15626) | |
2010-02-14 17:58:00 | You can get something really decent in the 15" range, like an HP w/512MB Graphics Card dedicated, 500GB HDD & 4GB RAM for ~$1400. It'd be lighter, smaller, much much easier to travel with, and you'd have $1K+ to spend on other things, like a nice carry case, or airfares ;) | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
