2009-04-09 09:56:00 | How can two space ships meeting always face the right way up in Sci-Fi movies? Apparently it doesn't always apply, Jen :p photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com

2009-04-09 10:08:00 | I have to confess I had to read the comments to realise what was wrong with that picture ... :waughh: I've just been watching the trailers for the latest Star Trek movie - looks good! :drool Just as well Zachary Quinto has pointed ears in the movie, otherwise I keep seeing Sylar. Can't wait to see it. :nerd:

2009-04-09 10:29:00 | How can two space ships meeting always face the right way up in Sci-Fi movies? I'd imagine with the advanced state of their ships computers it would be entirely plausible and require no extra effort for the ships to approach each other with the same orientation. It would be the logical thing to do.

2009-04-09 10:36:00 | It would be the logical thing to do.Why? They won't be (I imagine) waving out the ports at each other. :illogical | Jen (38) | |
2009-04-09 10:55:00 | Because its human habit for everyone to be standing in the same direction, Granted its a necessity caused by our planet bound environment but imo its logical to carry that behaviour into space, Especially if you were to travel to the other ship, Imagine the social repercussions of standing on the ceiling of your hosts spaceship. If I were Captain of a trillion billion dollar space ship cruising around the universe the least I could do is match orientation with any visiting ship. And I would expect them to be at least looking out their ports at each other, If not waving if present day cruise ships are anything to go by, I seem to remember the Enterprise having hundreds of floors/levels of windows, I bet they are packed with people when it is in close proximity to another space ship...Well, Until the shields go up and laser beams starts shooting through space.

2009-04-09 21:26:00 | There could even be a inter galactic rule for meeting space ships to orientate like the give way rule on planet earth for vehicles going up a hill. Or like Naval rules where the junior space ship captain orientates to the the space captain with most seniority. No engineering problems with space ship windows they sorted that out on the DH Comet only problem is how to keep the outside clean from space dirt and maybe space seagull doo doo.
