859692 2010-02-18 08:14:00 Given to me this old HP desktop computer and after reinstalling XP HOme only to find that there isn't any Audio driver available from HP site. It has got only the graphic driver, no chipset, no audio, etc. Have googled quite a bit but found nothing. There's nothing printed on the MB, too.

Any suggestions?

859693 2010-02-18 08:22:00 Its probably the multimedia drivers (h10025.www1.hp.com). I wouldnt install the wildtangent drivers whatever theyre for

Or go to the windowsupdate site and see if any appear there

Sorry, Speedy. I didn't reply you. The multimedia drivers are for the keyboard and mouse; Windows Update site hasn't got the relevant drivers available.

Cheers

859700 2010-02-19 04:18:00 Looks like there's 2 versions of that mobo / model (forums11.itrc.hp.com 353475&threadId=239597). Go into device manager. Double click on the sound entry. Go to the details tab change it to hardware ids. Copy and paste what it says here Speedy Gonzales (78)
