| 858896 | 2010-02-16 02:17:00 | You would be better off finding a system with a lesser graphics card and a better processor (A Core 2 Duo or better - Pentium Dual Cores are low end chips) if you don't intend to use it for games. When looking at Processors, compare the speed in GHz, number of cores and the amount of onboard cache. It is the onboard cache that is the main difference between the low end and high end chips (ie a Pentium Dual Core has less onboard cache than a Core 2 Duo therefore the Core 2 Duo is better). I can't say that I'm highly familiar with the Core i3/i5 series yet, having not dealt with them, but I'd say a high end Core 2 Duo would definitely beat a lower end i3. |
