762768 2009-04-07 02:34:00 The definition of atheism as being a belief there is no god comes from those who do believe in a god, (or hedge their bets by being agnostic,) and hence are trying to define what an atheist thinks from their own standpoint of belief.

Whereas an atheist rejects belief in a god or gods, hence an atheists' absence of belief.

Depends upon which side of the fence one is on :)

So an atheist doesn't beleive in a god, but he cant put his faith is a person? Does that make sense?
Like instead of believing in some fantastic super being, can an atheist believe in his fellow men/woman who are real and could actually do something?
Odd question to ask...

762771 2009-04-07 02:47:00 Metla, you MUST believe in the Spaghetti Monster. I remember him when I lived in W(h)anganui. He was later transmogrified into a road junction in Auckland I believe.:) Richard (739)

If this present age of Homo sapiens was more than the 6,000 years, then 8 billion people is not vast enough, even taking into account all those wars and feuding that have gone on before.

Perhaps there were more ice ages than we think, and we are just coming out of another one and it's not global warming at all.

Lurking.
