| 763086 | 2009-04-08 04:58:00 | Ordered a new notebook HDD from Ascent (for an old Vaio I have just been given) this morning at 10.30am. Delivered just a couple of minutes ago!!! :punk:punk:punk That is great speed. I wish I could say the same about Magnum Mac. I ordered an item wednesday last week from them, and have chased them up several times. It has only been dispatched today (a whole week later), despite them telling me it had been dispatched on Monday(2 dyas ago). There was no explaination for the delay. I have never had any delievery problems with ascent, and their after sales support is also top notch, so if you ever have a problem, they will always help you out in a quick manner. |

| 763091 | 2009-04-08 05:32:00 | I have an RMA story - I dealt with Eliot at Ascent for an item I purchased about 6 months earlier which had slowly developed a fault, and needed to be repaired. He organised for an ex-demo unit for me to borrow while mine was away with the distributor being repaired, which meant that there was minimal disruption to me during the 2 weeks it took for the distributor (Renaissance I think it was) to get it sorted. | somebody (208) | ||

Unfortunately the courier companies can still disappoint. I bought a bunch of parts from Ascent so that I could build a PC. Some came the next day, and the rest trickled in over different couriers. The last two parts arrived eight days after I placed my order. I know it's not Ascent's fault; I got the dispatch notice the day after ordering (I paid via direct credit so the delay was expected) but the courier let me down :( |

| 763094 | 2009-04-08 07:26:00 | I would also like to give Ascent a big thumbs-up. Their prices are seldom shown on Pricespy as cheapest, but they do include shipping. Their staff do seem to know their stuff, and if buying bits for a whole system, they tend to cast an eye over it to ensure there are no newbie mistakes being made by the purchaser... ie appropriate RAM and CPU for the motherboard... no incompatible interfaces etc. Had an RMA nightmare with a crappy Maxtor. Ascent simply passed me on to BDT (Black Diamond Technologies) (now Renaisance I think). BDT did a wonderful job making up for a string of foul Maxtors. Full credit to both Ascent and BDT/Renaisance for a happy ending every time. |
