nobody at work seems to know, and the shop where you get printers and ink dont seem to know....... help anyone?
a workmate has emailed canon but we not expecting a fat reply.

any help from our vastly knowledgeable pf1 people would be appreciated.

859512 2010-02-19 05:20:00 With my older model of Canon, the entire base of the printer is a giant ink tank. It's lined with a spongey material. Cleaning it out involves a fairly significant disassembly of the computer, removal of the pads, and loads and loads of rinsing and squashing of the pads to flush out all the ink.

It's a sad indication of just how much of your precious, overpriced ink the machine dumps in order to ensure the jets are clear at each use.
