766213 2009-04-18 22:03:00 I'd make the same claims if I was in the bizzo, It would bring in more business then they knew what to do with.

That aside, I reckon the people who make the coffee should be forced to drink a cup of their brew at least once a day, Some of it is putrid and it seems to be the twat making it that is the difference.

766214 2009-04-18 22:26:00 It cant be that hard to take the back off the machine, snot any bug that runs out and spray it with some nice bug killer. Then vacuum up the dead roaches with a bit of garden hose taped to a vacuum cleaner.
I presume they have a rinsing circuit that flushes hot water thru the machine to take out any material stuck to the plumbing.
I agree with Metla the dude is trying to scare people into paying a contractor to do something someone with arms and legs could do.

766215 2009-04-19 01:36:00 I used to work in a food industry sector (manufacturing) many years ago .

I don't know whether it's still happening, but the council inspectors used to make an appointment to do their inspection, usually a few days in advance .

I could never understand this, as it gave an opportunity for a dodgy place (not us!) to do a clean-up before they came .

As a consumer, I think it would be far better practice just to turn up with no notice, which would make everyone keep a high standard all the time, rather than for just the few days around the inspection time . . .

766216 2009-04-19 01:56:00 if there is roaches they will be all around the shop. warm machines just make a nice place to hide. havign them in the back doesn't mean they are in the coffee.

i've lost count of the amount of roaches and mice in the back of stoves, microwaves etc over the years. just because you have a dea mouse in the back panel of the oven doesn't mean you will have any mouse in your baking.

frankly if you look behind the scenes of most pubs/clubs etc you would not eat or drink there ....ever ;)

766217 2009-04-19 05:45:00 We have a coffee vending machine at work. It has been infested at least once now with tiny mites. The outside of the machine was swarming with them and many people had free protein added to their drinks. They don't seem to swim too well in scolding hot liquid for some reason ... Jen (38)
766218 2009-04-19 06:18:00 Would the mites be baby ants? prefect (6291)
766219 2009-04-19 06:25:00 No, they were reddish with a mite-like body. I'm guessing they were introduced from the coffee, chocolate, whitener or sugar powder. Jen (38)

766221 2009-04-19 06:30:00 Might be a good idea to photograph them and send pic to MAF. Anybody been bitten? Marnie (4574)
