| 860623 | 2010-02-22 17:43:00 | I have a dell PC running windows xp sp2. When I ran an exe file the PC shut down. I tried to load windows and the blue screen message IRQL FILE NOT LESS OR EQUAL appears for a split second before it shuts down again. I have tried repairing windows files but this hasn't worked. The pc will not load windows even in safe mode. When I tried to reinstall windows and choose the repair option using a downloaded boot disk it asks for the serial but it wont accept it as genuine, even though my windows and serial are genuine these are the technical details from the blue screen: 0X0000000A (0X00000000, 0X0000001C, 0X00000001, 0X804FAF04) |

It is usually a driver problem. Not always though. You need to have the same windows CD as is on the PC - ie XP Home OEM vs XP Home Retail, etc etc. |
