860293 2010-02-21 07:15:00 Win7 home prem. after a while my sound icon has red cross on. Trouble shooter says no system plugged in. ( rubbish) Reboot pc and all is good for a while. Have checked in device manager and all seems ok ( to me !) and has checked for updated drivers .. no change.

any ideas please?

860294 2010-02-21 07:26:00 Interesting you should mention that, I've got a mate who's also got the same issue, Win7 Ultimate.

What's your Motherboard / Soundcard?

Try something like this: social.technet.microsoft.com

860295 2010-02-21 07:35:00 Sounds similar to firewire on the other (old) PC here. First time, it said there were no resources for it. So, formatted the hdd again and now its fine. Speedy Gonzales (78)

860300 2010-02-21 07:44:00 Did you install the latest Drivers from Intel From Here (downloadcenter.intel.com) - only came out on the 11th.

Hang on - which board is it ??? look on the box they should have given you that the board came in - NOT the invoice.

Or on the board itself.
